Phillip McReynolds was born and raised in Starkville, Mississippi, USA.  He completed the Ph.D. in philosophy at Vanderbilt University, writing a dissertation on John Dewey, has taught at Gonzaga and Miami Universities, lectures in philosophy at Penn State University, and has an unhealthy fascination with movies.
